D.C. … Maryland … Virginia.

The DMV.

And welcome, you’re going to love it here.

Things to Do in the DMV This Spring

We have to start with the Cherry Blossom Festival, of course. The festival is in full swing now and runs through April 17.

This annual celebration is a D.C. tradition that draws visitors from down the street and around the world. The cherry trees that line the tidal basin were a gift from the people of Japan and were planted in 1912.

Today, 110 years later, the cherry blossoms are still gorgeous and set the perfect backdrop for a stroll through one of D.C.’s most beautiful settings. The festival is supported by countless other events designed to help you make the most of your trip into town.

Of course, spring in the DMV also means the crack of the bat has returned to Nationals Park and Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Whether you go to root for the home team or grab tickets when your favorite team is in town, these are two of the best places to watch a ballgame.

Nationals Park is located in Navy Yard, an area fast becoming one of the most vibrant in the city. New shops and restaurants are opening all the time, adding more reasons to head downtown.

In Baltimore, Camden Yards is one of the game’s iconic stadiums and it’s a can’t-miss stop for anyone who loves our national pastime.

Spring is also a great time to stroll the historic streets of Old Town Alexandria, checking out centuries-old architecture while shopping your way through modern, trendy boutiques. Or head further west in Northern Virginia to dip your way through some of the area’s award-winning wineries like Stone Tower Winery in Leesburg, Doukénie Winery in Hillsboro or Breaux Vineyards in Purcellville.

In Maryland, St. Michaels is always spectacular in the spring. Perfect for a day trip by the water but filled with bed & breakfasts for short getaways, this charming town is a true gem of the Bay Country. The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum is always worth a stop. Then be sure to enjoy a crab feast on the water before you head home.
